The Outlook 2007 Sample Add-Ins are a learning tool that will help you understand some of the important new features in the Outlook 2007 object model. Each sample is available in a version for Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office Second Edition (VSTO 2005 SE) in addition to the version based on the Outlook 2007 Sample: Visual Studio 2005 Templates.

XPS Viewer

XPS is the new portable document release by Microsoft. The XPS format is similar to Adobe PDF. Microsoft has integrated XPS-based technologies into the 2007 Microsoft Office system and the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system, but XPS itself is platform independent, openly published, and available royalty-free. Microsoft is using XPS to bring additional document value to its customers, its partners, and the computing industry.

You can create XPS documents in Office 2007 by selecting Save As XPS Document.

To view the XPS document you need either a Standalone Viewer or .NET 3.0 Framework for viewing in Internet explorer.

PowerPoint Viewer 2007

PowerPoint Viewer 2007 lets you view full-featured presentations created in PowerPoint 97 and later versions. This viewer also supports opening password-protected Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. You can view and print presentations, but you cannot edit them in the PowerPoint Viewer 2007. The PowerPoint Viewer 2007 will not allow you to run macros, programs, or opening linked or embedded object in the presentation.
